BRICKS BY THE BAY Convention Registration Is Now OPEN

As a previous participant and BayLUG member, I recommend that you consider attending the convention (if you are a hardcore LEGO fan) or, at the very least, the Sunday show open to the public.

Thursday workshops are not part of the regular registration but they're awesome.
Regular registration offers many workshops for you to choose from as well as contests and games.

This is what the Convention schedule will be:

Schedule

On Thursday we are expanding the workshops for intensive learning of LEGO-related techniques (additional fee required), and we will have setup in the Grand Ballroom for exhibits.
On Friday & Saturday we have various events (break-out sessions) such as presentations, roundtable discussions, games, etc. from 9am to 6pm, a break for dinner, and an evening program with prizes, speeches, etc. followed by more games and contests. There will be limited vending in the Grand Ballroom on Friday. The vendor room will be setting up on Saturday, so attendees can have first crack at the vendors before the public day Sunday.
The ballrooms close at midnight, but each night (Thurs/Fri/Sat) we will keep a meeting room in the hotel open late for people to hang out, play board/card games, socialize, etc. Attendees are strongly encouraged to stay at the hotel especially if you are planning to drink, or at least have a designated driver.
On Sunday, we will be open to the public starting at 9am (for VIP) and open from 10am-4pm for them to see our exhibits and visit the vendors. After public hours we have a brief closing ceremony followed by teardown.
See the Schedule for more information about convention activities.

LEGO Technic Porsche Contest (Ends August 1)

We’ve partnered with Porsche again to invite you to create the Porsche car you’ve always wanted using a mix of LEGO Technic and LEGO system bricks. Show off your dream car using photos or even with a short video.
The contest runs until August 1st at 10:00 a.m. CET, after which a panel of guest judges (who you might know) including: Eurobrick’s Jim Van Gulik, Fernando de Carlos of Sheepo’s Garage, and TechnicBRICKs’ Fernando Correia, will select 20 semi-finalists. These semi-finalists will be reviewed by members of the LEGO Technic team to find 9 runner-ups and 1 grand prize winner. This grand prize winner will win:
  • a trip to the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart Germany
  • a full tour of the museum
  • one 42056 LEGO Technic Porsche 911 GT3 RS

We also will have a new contest launching on Monday which I’ll post about then – it’s been a busy couple of weeks!
